vintage 2023 report

The winter was generally mild, without particularly much rainfall, in contrast to the spring which was cold and rainy. This resulted in delayed and uneven budbreak. The flowering was also uneven, and quite late (early June).
The heavy rains in the spring, which continued till June, resulted in a 20% reduction in production due to downy mildew.
Despite the warm and dry July and August and the low production, veraison was delayed
The harvest of the white varieties begun around 10th of September, while the reds were harvested at the end of September -beginning of October.
Both the thinning due to downy mildew and the increased temperatures during ripening, led to low yields, but also to more concentrated fruit and to a very good to excellent quality
All our wines this year have a moderate alcohol and very a good acidity.
The whites and rosés have a very good aromatic intensity and a very good mouthfeel
The reds, and especially Xinomavro, have a very good aromatic and color intensity, moderate alcohol, soft, ripe tannins and a long finish
