Naoussa 2011, Our first PDO Naoussa

Xinomavro, clone V6 (45%) and  V3 (45%) and 10% Xinomavro population
Vineyard: Krasna and Lakka.
Climate: Mediterranean with semi-continental tencances  
Soil: SC (sandy- clay) to SCL (sandy- clay- loam) with  CaCO3
Density of plantation: 3000 plants/ Ha
Production/plant: 2 -3 Kg depending on the area and the clone
Soil treatment: Permanent grass cover
Our philosophy: Creation of well-balanced vineyards is imperative for the production of high quality wines. For this reason we cultivate our vineyards organically.
Vinification Process: Cryo-extraction (skin contact) at 12-14oC for 3 days, fermentation at 25-28o
Ageing: In French and American 225 l oak barrels for 14 months
Analytical characteristics: Alcohol 13,3%, acidity 5,7 g/l, pH 3,53
Tasting notes: Deep cherry color, nose of cherries, small red berries, dry tomato, slightly earthy notes, the typical sweat and complex aromas of Xinomavro. Mouth feeling of fruits and earthy notes, well combined with mature tannins and nice acidity
