Argatia Xinomavro  (Regional Wine of Macedonia), 2005

Variety: Xinomavro, clones V6 and V3


Soil: V6 Clone-Neutral, sandy clay, V3 Clone-sandy clay loam and slightly calcareous
Planting Density: 3000 plants/Ha
Drip irrigation: 700 m3/Ha
Harvest: End of September
Yield:  2 Kg/plant in the case of V6, 2,5 Kg/plant in the case of V3
Vinification method: Skin conduct at 12-14oC for 12-48 h, fermentation at
graduated temperatures.
Ageing: French and American oak for 8 months

Analytical caracteristics: 13,2% vol, acidity 6,4g/l, pH 3,46

Tasting notes: Rich, dark color, with complex aromas of small red fruit, vanilla,
plums, tomato and black olive. Full-bodied, with well integrated tannins
and long finish with a great aging potential.
